MANA'O (meaning) of our patch

- Although the roots of Hawaiian Combat Jujitsu are of multiple Cultural Origins, the initial sharing of the different arts all began in the 40's here in Hawaii when Professor Henry Okazaki cross trained with other Martial Art Practitioners including of the Native Hawaiian martial art Lua

-The Hawaiian Flag positioned above represents our ancestors (in the arts) all watching over us for guidance and strength. Also that in all the techniques we use, which originate from Japan, China, Phillipines & Thailand, they have all some how or another been developed or redeveloped here in Hawaii by Local hands before going mainstream. Even since the 40's Hawaii Marital Artists have had a "Let's Scrap" attitude.

- The 3 waves represent the 3 main styles from which  HCJ is rooted from KENPO - JUJITSU - PURORESO

- The 3 waves also represent the sequence of our systems attacks:

1st Wave: The Counter Strike .

2nd Wave : The Take Down & Control

3rd Wave: The Finish

Compared to  surfing and being pounded by a series of waves to which you never get a chance to catch your breath between Waves
